Something is not right here. This looks like an XBone 2.0
installation, not 3.x! Did you install XBone 2.0 before?

A couple more questions:

What is your platform (FreeBSD or Linux) and version?
I did notice that our current Makefile will miss the
symlinks if you install *from source tarball* on Linux,
unless I missed something:

 From the "node" target in the Makefile:
