[Smac-users] why I can not get latest version of SMAC from CVS

You should be able to get that file directly from the URL you listed.
Click on the version you want (current is 1.13)
to go to
http://www.isi.edu/cgi-bin/nsnam/cvsweb/ns-2/mac/smac.cc?rev=1.13
which is the clean file.

But I don't recommend you pull out specific files like that as s-mac
depends on other files as well (for example, smac.h).
A better choice is to either get a daily snapshot of all of ns,
or to directly access our anonymous CVS repository
