[ns] modifying vlan folder

hi
im planning  to add new protocol for packet marking as my final project  so
i need to design a vlan .i found vlan folder in subdirectory but i have no
idea how to modify it?also im working on ns2.34 over UBUNTU 9.10 i need to
connect some lan with lan ruoter or switch and apply my algorithm on
routers.so would you plz give me a hand?
any sample code(vlan) or maybe code even comment can be useful
