[ns] How to invoke Link Quality Indication from network layer?

Hello all,
   I am trying to call the service (for 802.15.4) phy related to Link
Quality Indication from network layer.
   My goal is to check the node energy from phy before forwarding the
packet.
 Anybody can help me?
