Dear everybody,
Would anyone help me with these questions?
Is it possible by any means, that a in a sequence of video frames
(0-10) frame 5 (for instance and only this frame) gets lost in the wireless ad-hoc network and an ARQ
is sent for it? What I mean is that as far as I know, a frame loss
occurs in case of a route break or congestion and in this case a burst
of frames could be lost. So my main confusion is that what is an ARQ
realy good for???? In case of a route break, there would be no chance
that the ARQ gets to the sender and even if it gets it is unnecessary,
since the sender will reroute and resend the frames along the new path.
And in case of congestion, the ARQ does not get to the sender for the
same reason that the frames did not receive. Can a single packet loss
occur in the network, considering that the 802.11 MAC layer retrasmits
the frame until it gets to the next hop?
Thanks in advance for your consideration
