[ns] question regarding class OldSim error

hi all;
I installed ns2.31 on ubuntu 8.04. The allinone package installed correctly
and passed all validation tests...but whenever i try to run a .tcl file,it gives the following error% ns example1
error when calling class OldSim: example1ocassionally it also gives the following error:warning working in backward compatibility modeerror when calling class OldSim:example1please note that i have explicitly taken care of path requirements and done all tweakings with the working directory.Also this same error is displayed if i try to run some fictious non-existent file.(does this mean that ns is not able to find my files??)not able to solve the problem i installed ns2.33...but it too is giving the same problem please help, i am in dire need of some.
