[ns] How to calculate the Primary/Backup path lifetime in a wireless network?

Hi,

 I am working on Backup Route construction for a single path routing
protocol in ns2.  want to know how to get the primary path or backup path
lifetime. I used 10 nodes in my simulation using AODV protocol. Plz tell
me one solution to calculate the lifetime of the primary or backup path
in the network.
