[ns] Query regarding soft-states and hash tables

Hi.

  I am trying to implement the soft state refresh procedures for a protocol I'm implementing in ns-2. I want to use timer callback function for this purpose. Also, I want to make use of hashmap library in another section. So, please let me know any tutorials or example implementations of hashmap and timer callback. Any resources that discusses these concepts in some detail would be of great help too.
