[ns] cross layer

Dear all,
Hi,
In NS2, I need to add some modules in layer 3 for
changing routing protocol and some modules in layer 7,
but I dont know how can I use this seperation in my
programs (in NS2 where must I add my module in layer 3
and where must I add my modules for using layer 7). 
I would be highly appreciated if advise me about that.
