[ns] NS-2.30 installation problem!- NS make failed, no rule

Hi all,

I was trying to install ns-2.30 in linux ubuntu  6.06. But when I ran  
./install, it showed the following error message and exited.

make:*** No rule to make target 'VERSION'.  neded by gen/version.c. Stop.

NS make failed!

This happened when I tried to reinstall ns-allinone2.30 in another  
directory after some problem occured in my first ns-allinone2.30.

If any  one has any advice or suggestion, please help me, it is urgent...
