[ns] Applicatin choice in measuring routing perormance

Dear All users,
 Would you please tell me why most of simulation done for routing protocols performance measure use the CBR as an application, what make CBR distinguished and attractive why not using TCP or expontional or posson in doing application packet injection, i mean they are in use but not like the CBR. Any reasons?
