[ns] Communication Range in 802.11

Hi everyone,

I was wondering how it is possible to increase the communication range 
between
two mobile nodes which are using FTP/TCP in a 802.11 system.

I have been told to go to '~ns~indep-utitls/propagation' and compile 
threshold.cc
i.e. g++ -Wno-deprecated  threshold.cc -o threshold.
So I did this by putting a distance of 10.000 metres and I got 1.42681e-16 
for
the RXThresh_ (which I put in my tcl file)

The problem is that when I put the distance between two nodes more than 500
metres, then I wouldn't get any throughput!

I thought that I can go up to 10000 metres now?!

Any suggestions on how to increase the communication range between two 
nodes??
