[ns] node id

HI,
Could someone clarify the following for me?
I am analyzing the ad-hoc networks,and I am trying to modify the
Coordinated Multihop Sistem for the IEEE 802.11e.

I have need of knowing if a node is the source, the destination or an
intermediate node, for the forwarding packet.

I'm trying to compare the packet id with the node id, but I don't know
which is, in ns, the node id.
Perhaps nsaddr_t ?
And if it is , how can a node find its own node id and compare it with
a packet id?
