[ns] how to vary the transmission range !!

Hi freinds,
i wanna mesure an ad hoc routing performance when the netwrok connectivity 
changes , for that i have to vary the transmission range of the nodes. how 
can i do that ??? should i change their transmission power Pt_ ?? or maybe  
their Rxthresh_ ??? and what's the diffrence between the two approches ???
