[ns] I've a problem with mac802.11

Hi ns-users! 
I've a problem with mac802.11 
I've settled various transmission between a wired node and several wireless 
nodes. 
I'd like to see contentions on the channel, but it seems to me that the only 
contentions accur with pkts like ack, message.... 
It is possible (and if so, why) that there aren't contentions between packets 
like tcp or udp/cbr?
