[ns] 802.11 Frequency

Hi all,
Concerning the frequency used in the simulations using the ns 
propagation model, I have noticed that the default value for this 
frequency is 914 MHz which is said to be following the Lucent WaveLAN 
DSSS radio interface.
Actually, i am using ns in the ad hoc network simulations, using the 
802.11 CSMA/CA, and i find that this frequency value is not consistent 
as it is rather for the GSM.
Although, i find many examples of tcl files runing ad hoc routing 
protocols (under ..../tcl/ex/) using this default frequancy.

Is there something inconsistent ??? and should this value be changed in 
ad hoc case???
