[ns] problem with method tcl.evalf ()

Can someone say to me how works the method "tcl.evalf()"?
i don't know why the argument isn't recognized and i don't know where has to
be defined the string with which is called this method.

i have the sentence:
tcl.evalf ("%s alloc-tcp", name ());
