[ns] accessing variables

i need to access the ch and pktTx_ variables.
these are defined in mac-802_11.cc.
i need to access these from wireless-phy.cc
does it suffice that i define a function in Mac802_11 class
and call it from wireless-phy.cc
any help is welcome
