[ns] ch->prev_hop_ variable problem

Hi. I am having problems with the ch->prev_hop
variable.I am finding that this is 0 consistently.When
i looked at the archives, i found someone else who has
asked the same question but there wasnt any reply
associated with it. I ma pasting his question again:

I have code that uses the ch->prev_hop_ variable and
assumes that this
variable is set. Unfortunately I find that it is
consistently zero, and
upon examining the code for ns at large I can find
only a few places where
this variable is set and they are not really part of
the overall structure
of the system.  I was wondering if anyone knows what
the status of this
variable is in the 2.1b9a release and what it is like
now.
