[ns] first packet lost in a TCP session

Hi everyone

In NS, regardless the size of the initial transmission
window, if the first packet of a TCP session is lost
the sender will timeout, since it doesn't react to the
arrival of duplicate acks and it never retransmits the
lost one.

Does somebody if this is the case in real
implementation as well ?
