Hello again,

I am trying to get NAM to work on an XP machine, and have tried compiling the program from its source. Seeing as that is frustratingly difficult, I then proceeded to download the pre-compiled binaries (1.0a11 pre-release and 1.0a10) for the Windows OS. When I tried running the program, I got the following error messages: 

nam: nam_init "" : couldn't open "{C:/Documents and Settings/User}/.nam-port": n
o such file or directory
    while executing
"open $PORT_FILE_ w 0600"
