[ns] Validation problem

On doing validation after installing ns-allinone-2.1b8a the following 
errors were repoted:

validation overall report: some tests failed:
./test all-tcp ./test-all-testReno ./test-all-newreno ./test-all-sack 
./test-all-tcpoptions ./test-all-tcpReset ./test-all-tcp-init win .....

I have set paths to point to the directory containing the ns bin and also 
the library paths LD_LIBRARY _PATH,TCL_LIBRARY and TK_LIBRARY. I created a 
.tcshrc which was not initially there and stored it in my home directory. 
An attempt to run the ns example.tcl failed.
Could anyone point out where i could have gone wrong?
