[ns] Traffic generating in ns

Hi all,
   I'm a new user of  ns.  I'd like to check if ns can support
the following modelling.

   I plan to use ns for simulating a simple wireless network .
Instead of using ns traffic generator, this model has to accept 
traffics generated from another application via Ethernet.  
I plan to modify the existing ns traffic generator code to
listen and accept packets from Ethernet, then forward to
the network model.  

   Will ns allow me to do those things ??
