[Ns-edu] Problems with running examples..

hello,
i am trying to run some example files using ns-2.27.
 
i am getting the following error.
 
ns: error while loading shared libraries: libpcap.so.0.6.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
 
the command that i gave is as follows:
$ ns ns-simple.tcl
 
how would i fix this problem??
i would appreciate if anyone could help me out with this.
