Subject: [Ns-edu] sample assignments using ns in the classroom

We've added several on-line resources about using ns in the classroom and
lab recently:

- Christos and I wrote a brief white paper summarizing how we've been
  using simulation and animations in teaching network courses.  You
  can get a copy at
  <http://www.isi.edu/~johnh/PAPERS/Papadopoulos02a.html>

- We've put several sample homework assignments using ns and nam on
  the web.  This feature is password protected and intended for
  professors teaching courses, please contact me for access.

- We now have lists that tie the nam animations in the repository to
  chapters in three widely used network textbooks.  See the "textbook
  resources" section of <http://www.isi.edu/nsnam/ns/edu/index.html>

  One thing setting this list up revealed is that although we have
  pretty deep coverage of several more advanced topics (TCP,
  multicast, etc.), we need more basic animations.  If you've done
  animations in areas we don't currently cover, please add them to the
  repository <http://www.isi.edu/nsnam/repository/index.html>.

We hope you find these helpful and encourage you to share your
experiences on the ns-edu mailing list (both what works and what
doesn't work).
