Hi all,
	We now have a web-based interface (see below for ptr) that can be
used for contributing ns scripts (a tcl script file, namtrace file, any
screen
shot and/or web pages that describe the particular simulation). You can
also view & search the script database from this interface and download
any script from here.
There are only a few scripts currently in the database, which we hope
will grow with contributions from all of you.

Commants and ideas to improve the site (and bug-reports, ofcourse)
are very welcome. (Pl send them to ns-users list)

Since you're inside ISI, you probably haven't noticed that all links
to the scripts are of the form:

file:/nfs/jade/blah

i.e. not accessible outside ISI.

I'd suggest using this to build an index to the contents of:
http://www.isi.edu/cgi-bin/nsnam/cvsweb/ns-2/tcl/ex
where all the example scripts in the distribution can be described in
detail. hey presto, the newbie doing a search will find that she has
already downloaded the script that contains the solution to her
problem, but didn't know it.

Thanks for pointing the bug out; it has been serious overlooking on my
part. already have received multiple error-reports on that!
and thanks for yr suggestion for linking tcl/ex.
The basic intention for this script database is for educational purpose;
to help people use ns to demonstrate networking issues in classrooms etc.
Hence the format for uploading file which includes namoutputs, screen
shots...
But I guess we could have a different interface that would allow
search thru the above database, tcl/ex and any other sources for ns
scripts.

Following on todays announcement of a web index for ns scripts,
the current focus is to build a database of scripts for educational
applications of ns.

So with time and growing number of contributions, we'd be able
to create a pool of ns scripts alongwith their nam-demos (one of our
future plans is to run nam from the web browser), screen-shots
etc, which could be used to demonstrate interesting features of a
particular protocol, or to stress any other networking issues, primarily
in classrooms. so we'd like to encourage people who already use ns for
teaching (as well as those who don't but would like to), to use this
database for downloading different scripts as well as for contributing
their own scripts.

When we have more experience with this way of organizing scripts
we will consider expanding it to store general ns scripts.

Hello Everyone,

This is an announcement for an interim release between nam version
1.0a10 and 1.0a11.  This release is version 1.0a11-prerelease.  Nam
version (1.0a11) will be included in the next all-in-one release of
ns and nam.

This prerelease contains the following:

 *  A more feature complete nam editor, which allows the graphical
     creation of ns scripts, network topologies and mobile node
      movement.

        - To create a new editor file select New Editor... from the File

           menu in the Nam Console window.

 *  Several bug fixes in the display of wireless animations.


The goals of the nam editor are to enable new users to create and
manipulate ns scripts without any knowledge of tcl  programming and
to have a tool that can be used in lab experiments to further students
understanding of networking principles and concepts.
