They ship only one version of libraries when they are binary
compatible with each other. Otherwise, they do what I described. i.e,
look at gtk1,2, and 3. (gtk+-devel, gtk2-devel, gtk3-devel on my FC15
box). The same for Qt (qt-devel (this is qt4), qt3-devel).
