[Ns-developers] Could any protocol derived from Ethernet be simulated by ns3 ?

To create a repository on the ns-3 code server requires that you obtain 
an account there.

Besides the links that I originally sent, there are more instructions 
here, particularly on generating a patch:

I might suggest that you start with generating a patch if you are having 
difficulty otherwise.

Also, if you can point out specific areas in the 
instructions/documentation that you believe are not clear enough, we can 
try to improve those portions.
