Dear Ravi,
nice to hear from you. Your past experience in ns-2 can help you, however my advice is to spend a little time by reading the references for the project and by thinking about your proposal, which will be judged by all the mentors. Moreover, please share with all the mentors (not just me) your idea as soon as possible, since the application deadline is very close.
I've attached some advices given to another student:

Good work,

As far as my own background and interests are concerned, I am pre-final year student, pursuing my B.Tech degree in Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati. Last semester we had a course in Data Communications and I secured a "AA" in that course. I am doing a seminar this semester on Wireless Mesh Networks as a part of the course curriculum and I have developed considerable interest in the field proactive and reactive routing. I am doing ns-2 simulation of various routing protocols this semester as a part of the Computer Networks course this semester. I have worked on a project on socket programming, a Chat application based on TCP. My knowledge of C/C++ is sound enough. I am reading about various protocols in the Computer Networks course this semester.
