Dr. Caleffi,
I just found that NS-3 already have its first P2P module: "
http://code.nsnam.org/gillh/ns-3-chord", which builds a chord and a dhash
protocol based on IPV4 network. Maybe we can make use of their
contributions. To my knowledge, the overlay is independent of the underlay.
Thus, building an overlay for the manet should be similar to that for the
traditional network. The mobility may cause some changes but it should be
possible to extend the standard DHT and add the flavor of mobility and bind
it to the manet nodes. This is just my primary thoughts, I'll go on to
investigate in detail.
My previous research work focused on the traditional network and I'm not
fully ware of challenges in manet at present. I will read your recommended
papers to get a better knowledge. Buf I will appreciate it if you can
outline the characteristics of Mobile P2P for me. Thank you very much!
