I posted some new release candidates for ns-2 packages, linked from the
wiki here:
http://nsnam.isi.edu/nsnam/index.php/Roadmap#Release_schedule
Also in the wiki is a list of bugs and possible merge items that have been
socialized this year. Please add to the list if I've forgotten issues.
The main change since the last release candidates has been that I cut over
the allinone packages (and otcl/tclcl) to Tcl/Tk 8.5 series, due to
problems that arose with Cygwin's 1.7.1 release. I would appreciate some
feedback on the Cygwin builds (and patches if you find problems) because
presently there are no official releases that work on Cygwin 1.7.1. If
this goes smoothly I will look at posting an ns-allinone-2.34-cygwin-1.7.1
version on Sourceforge so that users will not be blocked on this in the
meantime.
Since we still have a list of items to merge in ns-2 (protocol model
patches, and getting rid of some warnings), what I think would be most
useful at this point is for people to try these packages out on their
favorite platform and report any issues or patches regarding the build
system. I tested them on Linux where they work smoothly for me and on
Cygwin and OS X where they seem to mostly work now, although I don't have a
modern OS X installation anymore.
