Thanks for the fast response and for updating RELEASE_NOTES.  As the document shows, Gary did a lot of validation work already with that model, but we'd be interested in feedback from others on what was done there and what more could be done as next steps.

One other item to note is that the example program is really a validation program and can be moved into a validation or tests/ directory whenever we converge on a directory for that.  And I'd like to move the validation document to a document directory in our main html tree and add links to it.
