Dear All,

Here is your daily update regarding the upcoming release. The bulk
of the information will be kept up-to-date here:

http://www.nsnam.org/wiki/index.php/Ns-3.4

I will keep emailing out this link along with status changes.

News:
=====

ns-3.4-RC1 has been postponed until tomorrow, Friday, March 20, 2009.
This has been done due to a bug that just popped up that breaks the build
on machines without GTK+. It seems to be a configuration / wscript bug due to
a last minute merge of the XML config store.
It will be feature complete and will have no known "broken behavior"
bugs.  We are on
course to making the release schedule; this setback will not shift the
April 1st release date for ns-3.4

Bugs:
=====

There are now 3 P1 bugs in the tracker, and 6 lower priority P2 bugs:
http://www.nsnam.org/wiki/index.php/Ns-3.4#The_ns-3.4_Bug_List

The TCP bugs are STILL being worked on; they will likely be bumped down
to P2 and fixed during the RC process. Craig has additionally made
some progress
on bug 458, and that patch will probably be applied soon.

Progress / Closed Bugs:
=======================

Bug 505 has been closed by Craig by adding an additional trace source.

New Bugs:
=========

None.

Next Steps:
===========

The first release candidate will be posted on Friday, March 20. A
full schedule of upcoming milestones can be found here:
http://www.nsnam.org/wiki/index.php/Ns-3.4#The_ns-3.4_Release_Schedule

The final three blockers will get fixed or reassigned in priority
before this time.
