Tom reminds me that part of some code George has written for animation
was scheduled for ns-3.4.  For reference, the thread started here;
http://mailman.isi.edu/pipermail/ns-developers/2009-January/005183.html

George's modifications to ns-3 include additional trace hooks (in
PointToPointChannel and PointToPointNetDevice), a dumbell topology
object that works on PointToPoint, an animation-interface which allows
users to specify how/if they want these animations, and some generic
fixes/enhancements to the Ipv4 and PointToPoint helpers/containers.

I did another review of the tree, and it seems that there are some
extraneous traces added to the PointToPointNetDevice which are never
called; these probably need to be removed. Also, the fixes to the
helpers and containers have seen no discussion, so I can't in good
faith merge these. So, I'll try and clean up these issues and get
just the bare bones stuff required to make George's animator working
into contrib prior to RC2.

Stay tuned for RC1; your daily status update will be together with
that later today. The regression farm is chugging away at the release
candidate right now, so whenever that is done (in several hours) I
will make a release. In my experience, the regression farm takes
about 6 hours to complete one full testing cycle, so don't expect
anything before about 9PM EDT.
