Dear All,

Here is your daily updates regarding the upcoming release.  The bulk
of the information will be kept up-to-date here:

http://www.nsnam.org/wiki/index.php/Ns-3.4

I will keep emailing out this link along with status changes.

News:
=====

ns-3.4-RC1 is planned for Thursday, March 19. It will be feature
complete and will have no known "broken behavior" bugs. We are on
course to making the release schedule.

Bugs:
=====

There are now 4 P1 bugs in the tracker, and 6 lower priority P2 bugs:
http://www.nsnam.org/wiki/index.php/Ns-3.4#The_ns-3.4_Bug_List

Bug 424 is awaiting some minimal feedback (introduces a new API). 426
and 427 will be closed out tomorrow.  Bug 505 status is unknown;
Mathieu, please update the tracker at your convenience.

Progress / Closed Bugs:
=======================
Since yesterday, bugs regarding tracing consistency (443) and the wifi
SupportsSendFrom issue (510) have been closed; one bug regarding
documentation (504) has been bumped down in priority; one bug
regarding tracing (505) is no longer blocked on bug 443; and three TCP
issues regarding when to set the ACK flag have had their patches
pushed (198, 425, 499);

New Bugs:
=========

None.

Next Steps:
===========

The first release candidate will be posted on Thursday, March 19.  A
full schedule of upcoming milestones can be found here:
http://www.nsnam.org/wiki/index.php/Ns-3.4#The_ns-3.4_Release_Schedule

The final four blockers need to get fixed before this time. There is
also some documentation work / cleanup to be done before the actual
release day, but this is what the code freeze period is for. I
suspect we will have to do a careful update of CHANGES.html, and make
sure the tutorial, doxygen, etc. aren't stale before April 1st. I'll
propose how to move forward on this during the code freeze.
