Hi everyone, here is my update and current progress on the Minstrel
multirate control port for ns-3
(http://www.nsnam.org/wiki/index.php/GSOC2009Minstrel):

1) All the major coding for Minstrel multirate control is done
2) Minstrel implementation is up and running (using modified test
cases from ns-3-dev/examples directory)
3) The behavior of Minstrel is verified according to specification
from madwifi project and
http://linuxwireless.org/en/developers/Documentation/mac80211/RateControl/minstrel
(by meticulously going through the debugging log)

My next step for the project is to continue to verify and validate
minstrel implementation by the following:

1) Work on the error/interference model in order to introduce errors
into sending or receiving packets( I am still looking into Tom's
suggestion on http://www.nsnam.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=414)
2) Set up a testbed experiments with simple scenarios: a) two nodes in
concurrent transmission moving away from one another until they are
out of range b) two nodes, out of transmission range, moving into
transmission range.
3) Test the minstrel port in emulation mode (still need to get an
account from CMU/Orbit emulator).
4) Write more test cases and scripts.

I am looking forward to the second half of GSOC.

Duy
