I managed to get multicast working again yesterday, and NSC last week. However, I think it will be best to avoid holding up this release for the following reasons:
- there is still a lot of internal cleanup that will distract from other bugs that should receive priority this month
- I would like more review since the scope has grown large
- I am concerned that the APIs are not finished yet. In particular, I am concerned that we do not have a good story for how to build a tunnel driver that performs IP-in-IP encapsulation, because the APIs do not exist in class Ipv4 to allow packets to be encapsulated. In general, we haven't dealt well yet with virtual NetDevice support. So, I would prefer to get a complete system story together before merging.
I will keep this current with ns-3-dev, work through the existing cleanup, write some more documentation, and correspond with Sebastien regarding IPv6 (and any others who might want to weigh in on the design) and repost something for review in early March once the ns-3.4 release candidates come out.
