[Ns-developers] GSOC students announced

All,
I apologize for the delay in announcing this to the list, but I'd like 
to announce and welcome our 2009 Google Summer of Code students and 
mentors.  The 2009 selection process wrapped up on Monday; we ended up 
with three positions, and they are
- Qasim Javed (mentor Adrian Sai-wah Tam)
- Flavio Kubota (mentor Juliana Freitag Borin)
- Duy Nguyen (mentor Ruben Merz)

We could not make offers to everyone we would have liked; we ended up 
with more students and mentors than slots.  Our project had 27 
applications this year.

I appreciate all of the time that many people put into this process, 
including Joe's work as organizational admin, the many reviews conducted 
by our mentoring team (this also includes Marcello, Florian, and Nicola, 
who also volunteered to mentor and who helped during the review 
process), and of course, the student applications.

I expect that Joe can follow up with more specifics to the program 
participants about the next steps.  Sometime before the start of the 
program, it would be nice if each of our students could introduce 
themselves on the list and summarize what their summer goals are.
