Could you explain a bit what these two (WaveformGenerator and
SpectrumAnalyzer) are?

As we already discussed at the ns-3 workshop last month, we are slowly
moving forward in terms of setting up measurements for the validation
of the physical layer. I believe that your code could be the right place
to start integrating the results of our measurements, especially for
propagation issues and frequency dependent behavior. What do you think?
