Dear All,
News:
=====
New build problems have appeared that prevent me from building NSC on
ns-regression. This means I cannot verify the recently added NSC regression
test and generate regression traces for the 32- and 64-bit cases.
I don't see how we can avoid slipping the release of ns-3.2 again. See
"Next Steps" below.
Comments:
=========
None.
Bugs:
=====
As of Monday night (PST), September 15, 2008, we have two P1 bugs filed
against ns-3.2-RC2:
Bug 345 -- We need nsc regression tests
Status: A regression test is written and checked in; unverified.
Bug 353 -- Build Failure
Status: New bug. NSC build blows up.
Progress / Closed Bugs:
=======================
We have closed the following bugs relating to ns-3.2-RC1:
Bug 351 -- Python: ns3.Schedule + import threading == crash
None.
Next Steps:
===========
We now have a small supply of bugs that need to be cleared out and verified
fixed. This implies that a need for an ns-3.2-RC4 has come about. I will
post this release candidate as soon as we have resolved the three P1 bugs
listed above, hopefully tomorrow night, Thursday, September 18, 2008.
Having a release candidate on Thursday night means we are going to have to
slip the release that was scheduled for Friday. Thursday evening to Friday
evening simply isn't enough exposure. It seems that the right thing to do
is to slip the release until Monday evening to give us some (business) time
for testing.
So, the release of ns-3.2 is planned for Monday, September 22, 2008.
Regards,
-- Craig
