This past weekend, Sam Jansen and I attended the Google Summer of Code
Mentor Summit, which was the final event in the 2008 version of GSOC.
As we bring GSOC to a close this year, I wanted to recognize and thank
those who made it a success for ns-3.

First, our students. Florian Westphal integrated Sam's Network
Simulation Cradle, and his code has already been merged to the main tree
in ns-3.2. Liu Jian took on an ambitious task on real world application
integration, and the bulk of his netlink code will be merged as part of
the ns-3-simu merge later, although the full support of quagga routing
software turned out to be beyond what we could finish this summer.
Hagen Paul Pfeifer started an MPI parallelization project that I hope
will be picked up and finished in the future. Hopefully, the students
learned some things and enjoyed the experience as well.

Mentoring and administering the program was a lot of work, and I'd like
to thank our mentors (Mathieu, Sam, George, and Joe) for their efforts.
On top of mentoring, I'd like to especially recognize the job that
Mathieu did as organizational admin, which was a heavy workload to get
things off the ground, and Joe also helped a lot early on.

Thanks again to all, and to Google for sponsoring the program,
Tom
