Ali (and all),

The inquiries about these GSOC projects (both on-list and off-list) have 
been very encouraging.  Several people have asked for more background 
and pointers, so we have created some wiki pages that provide more 
detail on the suggested projects.  We would prefer to reply on-list or 
on the wiki to questions for more information or guidance.

I put these pages on the wiki so that others may contribute as weel, so 
if other readers of this list have suggestions for guidelines or 
pointers on these subjects, feel free to contribute to the wiki or send
