There has been this test case for the TCP model in the pipes for a
while, contributed by David Evensky. It exercises TCP in different
ways than the checked in example scripts, and I have recently merged
it into the main ns-3-dev trunk:
http://code.nsnam.org/ns-3-dev/rev/fd69b15002ee

David has been really helpful in providing a test script, and has
uncovered many issues with Packet/Tags/Metadata and TCP logic.

The simple TCP model we have needs a solid unit test still, one that
explicitly tests for TCP hallmark behaviors such as retransmissions,
timeouts, congestion and flow control working properly, etc. I don't
have any immediate plans for implementing this (not for about 2
weeks). I wonder if anyone who has been using ns-3 for simulations
happens to have written some code that does things like this?
