All,
I've finished with the integration of the items planned for the next
ns-2 release, and would like to announce a couple of release candidates
for testing on other platforms.
To summarize briefly, there is a new ns-2 release (ns-2.33) with the
dynamic libraries patch, the new 802.11Ext models, patches to the
existing 802.11 models, a calendar queue improvement, and TCP Linux
models, and a few bug fixes. The ns-2 roadmap page has more details at:
http://nsnam.isi.edu/nsnam/index.php/Roadmap
There is a corresponding ns-allinone package with some modifications to
support the dynamic libraries patch (and the dei80211mr models), and a
few updates to the autoconf scripts on some of the other packages to
support OS X 10.5. Otherwise, there are no updates to otcl, tclcl, or
nam for this release.
I have tested the allinone package on a few platforms:
- Linux x86
- Linux x86_64
- Cygwin (Windows XP)
- OS X 10.4 ppc
If you are using some other operating system, you may want to test that
the below release candidates still work on your system, and give me
feedback in the next week or so.

If there are no further issues discovered by the end of next week, I'll
put together the official release shortly thereafter.
- Tom
