Dear All,
News:
=====
We had a regression discovered this morning by our ever-diligent PI, Dr. Tom
Henderson. It seems that the nightly regression testing hasn't been
entirely successful. A regression test apparently does not indicate
properly that an error has happened. It has appeared (for weeks now) that
test-csma-ping was working fine on OS/X PPC when, in fact, it was failing.
The underlying error in the V4Ping application as been fixed (it was a
trivial thing), but this means we get to do another RC and I get to do a
whole lot of manual testing now just because I am basically paranoid at
heart. All of this means that I am slipping the release by one day and we
can now expect to see ns-3.3 on Thursday.
I would appreciate all the help I can get beating on ns-3.3-RC5 (coming out
later tonight) since time is ticking down and, as Tom just demonstrated,
your testing is important!
So, Tom gets the extremely impressive daily ns-3 grand door prize for
finding this bug. There are still many prizes to be awarded -- you, too can
be one of the lucky winners. Please test, test and test some more ...
