I previously announced that we were conducting a Sigcomm demo this week,
and this is a brief report on it. Our table was very well attended, and
we were able to demo a scenario that showed off several recent and
experimental features of ns-3:
- a mixed wired/wireless script in both Python and C++
- Mathieu's GTK-based attribute configurator
- Gustavo's mobility visualizer
- Mathieu's ELF loader supporting the running of the ping program on two
different nodes
- Linux 2.6.18 TCP (Florian and Sam's NSC code) talking to the native
ns-3 TCP stack ported by Raj
- ns-3 emulation and real-time scheduler; Craig partitioned the topology
and ran each half in a separate virtual machine, replacing one of the
simulated CSMA links with a VMware host-only LAN
We had dozens of people stop by and ask questions about the project. In
my view, it went very well and I wanted to recognize and thank the above
people who made it possible.
Thanks,
Tom
