hi,
According to the gsoc timeline,
http://code.google.com/opensource/gsoc/2008/faqs.html#0.1_timeline, we
are nearing the start of the final gsoc evaluations on August 18th. This
means that we should all be ready to look back at what has been
accomplished, and summarize what we have done. Right now, I have not
seen any feedback from hagen for a couple of weeks so, now is the time
to send a final update to the mailing-list before monday. Florian sent a
summary last week and I have exchanged a couple of times with liu on irc
recently.
Based on the information I have right now, it looks like florian's stuff
is on track to be merged pretty soon after a couple of final reviews.
Liu's early work on the netlink implementation is also ready to be
merged in ns-3-simu when I get time to start working on netlink sockets.
Liu's attempts at porting libnl and quagga have also been very
beneficial for the ns-3-simu tree: I have used a number of his early
suggestions (such as, implementing send and sendto by calling sendmsg,
etc.).
Hagen's work seemed to be making progress the last time I heard about it
but, again, that was more than a month ago and I did not see much
activity in the http://code.nsnam.org/pfeifer/ns-3-para/ branch since
july the 22nd.
To summarize, it looks like a lot of work has been accomplished by our 3
students and that a lot of that work is going to be useful for ns-3 so,
it seems that we have been pretty successful !
Before we get to the final evaluation period on monday, I would really
appreciate that each student try to send a short summary of what they
have accomplished over the summer.
regards,
Mathieu
