Tommaso, I think a have a way to split it that isn't painful.

Tom, I will split out the real changes from style changes. Does that mean that
parts that fix errors are OK?

Also, if we document core and in the process we also fix style consistency and
move some docs around files (e. g. from .cc to .h) and groups, that is OK
because it's not purely style changes and because it's all in a single module?
