I think discussions are diverging a bit from the main topic.

Adding the same interface to and object twice is a programming error and there
should be an assertion failure.  I believe in this very strongly, it is the
most important issue, and amazingly is the one issue not yet fixed!  Does
anyone agree on this point at least?

After this issue is fixed, discussions can continue regarding helpers, perhaps
in another bug report.  But the main issue is with the Object class, _not_
helpers.
