[Ns-announce] ns-2.28 release announcement

Hi All,
    I'm very happy to announce a new release of ns-2.28. This release 
comes with many bug fixes and some new modules/extensions. The ns-2.28 
release also comes with newer versions for nam/Otcl/Tclcl and a 
corresponding ns-allinone package. Please read on 
for detailed information about each package.

The latest packages can be downloaded from ns' build page at 
http://www.isi.edu/nsnam/ns/ns-build.html

What's new in ns-2.28?
------------------------

NEW MODULES AND EXTENSIONS:

* Explicit Congestion Control Protocol (XCP) contributed by Dina Katabi
and ported/modified/extended by XCP group at USC/ISI. Please read chapter 
on XCP in ns-manual for details.

* Mac-802.15.4 module contributed by Jianliang Zheng and Myung J. Lee. For
more info read ~ns/wpan/WPAN_ZBR_pub.pdf.

* New features for SMAC like neighbor discovery, user configurable duty
cycle and sleep schedule. New test-suite for SMAC multihop scenarios. 
Contributed by Yuan Li.


BUG FIXES:

* Integrated floating point exception handling. Contributed by Yuri Pryadkin.

* Changes to configure for supporting Tcllib (8.3.5) on Fedora. Contributed by 
John Heidemann.

* Fixed memory leaks in SMAC. Contributed by Samir Goel and Padma Haldar.

* Added portability patches to setdest. Contributed by Despoina Triantafyllidou.

* Applied bug fixes to support building with gcc-3.4 (as ships in Fedora
Core 3). Contributed by Mathieu Robin.

* Bug fix for list-based improvement for wireless simulations when using a
single node. Contributed by Thomas King.

* Fixed build error with STL_NAMESPACES for setdest module. Contributed by
John Heidemann.

* Bug fix in tcp-newreno dupack handling. Contributed by Michael Redmond.

* distCST calculation bug fixed. Contributed by Thomas King.

* Directed Diffusion bug fixed for attribute rule-matching. Contributed by 
Tsung-han Lin.

What's new in nam-1.11?

* Animation interface added for mac802.15.4. For details read 
~ns/wpan/WPAN_ZBR_pub.pdf. Contributed by Jianliang Zheng and Myung J. Lee. 

What's new in otcl-1.9 and tclcl-1.16?
--------------------------------------
The new releases include:

* modifications to allow build under gcc3.4
* configure changes that support Tcllib (8.3.5) on Fedora

What's new in ns-allinone-2.28?
-------------------------------
ns-allinone has been updated to include the following newer packages. 
Please refer to individual package updates for details. Versions for 
tcl/tk and tools like xgraph/zlib etc remain unchanged.

Bug fixes for ns-allinone:

* patched ns-allinone/install script to improve diff detection in Cygwin
and updated to detect xorg X11 packets instead of only XFree86. Contributed by 
Sven Ehlert.

* Updated conf/configure.in.x11 to additionally detect X headers under
Cygwin. Cleaned up obsoleted files. Contributed by Sven Ehlert.
